Over the last year, I have been “plugged in” to the “kidmin” community a lot more than I have in the past. This week has been the Orange Conference. I know several people who are attending and through the live stream available, the tweets, FaceBook updates and blog posts, I feel like I have been a part of it even though I could not attend.
I say that because it is important to stay connected to others in ministry and see what God is impressing upon them. Even if you only serve in Awana, reaching kids for Christ is universal and you learn from several others not only how reach children, but drawing you closer to God in the process.
Of course I encourage you to attend your local Awana conference this fall, but if you cannot, then I am working on a way that you can be a part of the Awana Conference experience. This year’s conference theme is “One More”.
Imagine if there was “One More” way you could “attend” or experience conference.
Here is what I am working on for the fall conferences – I am going to try to get some audio and video of workshops and key notes to post (even some LIVE STREAMING! ), so if you are unable to make the conference, you can still be a part. I will be contacting people and asking them to post conference workshop notes on the CommanderBill.net Website and if are on Twitter I encourage you to tweet from your local conferences by using the hashtag #Awanacon11
Watch for details throughout the summer.
I am hoping that conference this year will be more accessible to several – but there is still nothing like being there.
If this idea interests you and you would like to be a part of this endeavour, please let me know.
