Appleseed Bear Hug 26

We are providing this resource for you to have “Awana at Home” as we are unable to meet during this time. We hope this helps you work with your child in their Cubbie handbook.

The videos were recorded as if we were presenting it to our Cubbies, not production quality. Minor imperfections were worked through just as they would be on a typical club night with no re-takes.

Lesson: Unit 6 Review

Verse: John 1:29 (ESV): … Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
(Short version is in bold.)

The Big Apple: While Jesus lived on the earth, He did many things to show that He was God’s Son, the Savior. Then He died on the cross for our sin, came alive again, went up to heaven and will return one day to take us to heaven with Him. Each day, we should follow (know and obey) the Savior more.

Coming in Time: Favorite Scene

Use various art materials like construction paper, crayons, markers, watercolor paints, stamps and ink pads, stickers, stencils, Play-Doh. • Optional — poster board or bulletin board paper.

Set out art supplies and let your child make their favorite object or scene from any of the Bible lesson in Unit 6 (Jesus baptized, Jesus calls His disciples – fishers of men, and Jesus calming the storm). They can use whatever materials they choose. Ask your child to tell you about their picture..

Playtime: Bug on a Plate

You will need a toy bug and a paper plate.

Remind your child that John the Baptist ate locusts and honey in the desert. Have your child race from one side of the room and back with a bug on a paper plate. If the bug falls off, they must stop and retrieve it before continuing. Once they complete their turn, they recite John 1:29 to you.

Prayer: This can be the normal time you might pray or to wrap up the lesson. Ask your child if they have anything to thank God for or to pray for, and then have a time of prayer, encouraging your child to pray as well.

Take time to learn the verse with your child and when they have learned it, sign the blank for the parent signature.

Thank you for taking time to work with your child in their Cubbie handbook.
